Combat Copper Surface Oxidation During Thailand’s Rainy Season with DRAWLUB 635

Thailand’s rainy season brings exceptionally high humidity and elevated atmospheric pressure, which drive airborne pollutants closer to ground level. This creates a highly corrosive environment where copper wire surfaces are prone to rapid oxidation—often resulting in blackened or reddish discoloration.

To mitigate this, copper wire should be stored in sealed or controlled environments to prevent exposure to contaminated air. Additionally, we strongly recommend strict monitoring of wire drawing emulsions such as DRAWLUB C 100 KT/NT and DRAWLUB C 301 KT/NT, ensuring the emulsion pH remains consistently above 9 to maintain optimal protection.

For enhanced anti-oxidation performance, we advise incorporating DRAWLUB 635 either as an additive in the drawing emulsion or directly into the annealing bath. DRAWLUB 635 offers superior adhesion to copper surfaces and forms a robust antioxidation barrier—making it the ideal solution for corrosion resistance in high-risk, humid conditions.
